Take action against these savage crimes
Two women in Ahvaz’s prison, two women in Shiraz’s prison, one woman
in Tehran’s Evin’s prison and Malakeh Ghorbani in Orumieh’s prison,
will soon be stoned to death. The Islamic Republic of Iran has already
stoned hundreds of people for allegations related to sexual relationship
outside of marriage. These crimes are happening in 21rst century
and right in front of our eyes. This savage and dark-age behavior
should be stopped. Stoning law should be nullified in the whole
world, immediately.
Next Tuesday is the worldwide day against stoning and yet many
women and men are waiting to be stoned in prisons. In Iran only,
during the last few months, six women have been convicted to stoning.
In Nigeria, Pakistan, Sudan, Afghanistan and few other countries,
stoning is a current law and most of the time women are victims
of this middle age crime. For the last three decades the Islamic
Republic of Iran has been responsible for most of these verdicts,
stoning hundreds of women and men. This regime is the one which
currently shows most resistance against anti-stoning protests.
The International Committee against stoning is a worldwide network
composed of two hundred international bodies of human rights defenders
working for nullification of the savage law of stoning.
July 11th is the worldwide day against stoning. This day has been
announced by the International committee and other human rights
organization to celebrate memories of the victims of stoning and
to put an end to this horrible crime.
This year, we will call the 11th of July, the day of worldwide
protest against stoning, the day of energetic fight to save the
lives of six Iranian women sentenced to be stoned. Show your objection
to savage laws in any way that is possible. By organizing protest
meetings, by mailing objection letters, and by denouncing this crime,
help nullify stoning law everywhere! Let’s put pressure on the criminal
Islamic regime of Iran to stop the verdict for these six women.
These women are hopeful to our international protests. Help save
their lives!
